Mpox is a vaccine-preventable, viral disease that can cause painful symptoms and can result in serious complications. While anyone can be infected, most cases have been among groups who are most at-risk including gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men, transgender or nonbinary people with certain risk factors. 

 

Understanding the historical barriers to adequate health care for members of diverse communities, we want to empower individuals to take their health care into their own hands. Mpox transmission among at-risk groups is persistent in part due to fear and stigma. Our education and awareness efforts are a direct response to these concerns. 

 

Individual health is extremely personal, and we encourage anyone interested in mpox vaccination, especially those who are considered most at-risk, to speak to their health care provider or pharmacist to see if vaccination is right for them.
